The Best Cideries in the Finger Lakes

New York State has the 2nd Highest Production of Apples in the U.S., and yes, there are some pretty great cideries here. There are over 40 Cideries in the Finger Lakes, but here are our Top 5

1911 Cidery, Lafayette

This is our favorite cidery. They have a few traditional ciders that are fantastic. Cider purists might scoff at this next statement, but on a hot summer day, I prefer a flavored cider to a traditional one. 1911’s Tropical flavored cider is perfect for a 90 degree day. The Raspberry and Black Cherry? They go down very quickly sitting by a lake as well. One of the other reasons that we love going there is that 1911 isn’t just about cider. They have a Chai Vanilla Vodka distilled from apples that is a really good start for a summer cocktail. They also have a liquor distilled from Maple Syrup. Gotta give them creativity points. The last thing that makes the trip there so much fun is that the food there is really good too. Definitely make that your lunch spot!

Oak and Apple Cidery, Penfield

This is a classic traditional cidery that decides to throw us a curve ball every now and then. The Core semi-dry Cider is a tasty traditional cider, but they aren’t afraid to experiment either. The Bairille Dair is a pineapple jalapeno cider?!? And it is good. A blend of old and new, traditional and non-traditional, and a beautiful view outside to boot. Can’t beat it.
